The Canterbury Branch of The New Zealand Chinese Association (NZCA) will be hosting the 61st Annual NZCA Sports and Cultural Tournament during Easter 2009. A variety of popular sports and social activities will be held over four days and nights in Christchurch - attracting over 1000 participants, spectators and supporters of all ages from around the country.
The Tournament will begin with an Opening Ceremony and Cultural Concert on Good Friday, April 10th 2009 at the Aurora Centre (by Burnside High School). This two-hour extravaganza includes the talents of local performers and is sure to be an enjoyable start to the Easter activities.
Sporting events will include Golf, Basketball, Mini-ball, Touch Rugby, Tennis, Badminton, Table Tennis, Indoor Netball, Lawn Bowls and Athletics.
The Tournament will conclude with the NZCA Tournament Ball on the evening of Monday April 13th 2009 at the Grand Chancellor Hotel.
