The 2008 Guangdong Winter Camp and China tour will depart from Auckland on Sunday, 23 November 2008 and return to Auckland on Wednesday, 24 December 2008.
The Guangdong Winter Camp is organised with the assistance of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government and will be similar to previous years.
The activities at this Winter Camp include:
Following the Camp there will be a tour of China including Hangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing and then 4 nights in Hong Kong before returning to New Zealand. Because of the difficulties in booking airline seats at the holiday peak period, there will be no optional extra nights available in Hong Kong this year.
The Winter Camp and China tour is limited to youths aged from 18 to 26 years old. Its price has been based on minimum of 20 people plus the tour manager (Janet Joe).
If participants wish to visit their ancestral village, they must complete the separate Ancestral Village Information Form as soon as possible after submitting the Application Form and $500 deposit.

All participants are required to travel with the group for the entire trip from Auckland back to Auckland.
The cost of the trip is approximately $6,700 per person on a twin-share basis. This price is subject to currency and airline surcharge fluctuations. This price is based on 20 paying adults travelling together as a group plus the tour manager (Janet Joe).
Tour price include:
• Airfares from Auckland to Hong Kong and return (Frequent Flyer points not allowed to be used).
• All transportation and domestic airfares within China.
• All 3 to 4 star accommodation in China.
• Accommodation in Hong Kong for four nights with return airport to hotel transfers.
• All organised sightseeing, entrance fees, and airport taxes in China.
• All meals in China except for lunch and dinners on free days in Beijing and Shanghai
• English speaking guides and porterage
• NZ departure & security taxes
• Hong Kong and China departure and security taxes
• Comprehensive Travel insurance with no excess
Excluded from the Tour price:
• Spending money and items of personal nature
• All lunch, dinners and tours in Hong Kong
• All lunches and dinners on free days in Shanghai and Beijing
The closing date for application is 1 May 2008. A $500 deposit shall be paid with any application.
This deposit will only be refunded if the application is not unsuccessful.
The balance of the cost ($6,200 approx) must be paid before 01 September 2008.
